If you spent time on the Brazilian internet in the 2010s, chances are you laughed at Não Intendo. The humor blog whose name plays on Nintendo has spent 17 years “saving the princess in the wrong castle,” as its own footer puts it, and it’s still going. At BGS 2026, SavePoint met the man behind it in person: Helder Ibanez.

Não Intendo’s greatest hits
Rather than ranking posts (with 17 years of archives, picking just a few would be unfair), here’s what made Não Intendo one of Brazil’s best-remembered blogs.
1. The name and Mario
The Nintendo pun said it all: video game-flavored humor. The blog was built around the Mario universe and became a reference for people who grew up between cartridges and memes.
2. The golden age of memes
Troll face, poker face, rage comics, comic strips and GIFs. Não Intendo was one of the main gateways for that humor in Brazil, back when blogs decided what went viral before social networks took over. It even showed up among the country’s most-visited blogs, with estimates of 8–9 million visits a month, and was an MTV Brasil partner blog.
3. The meme collections
To this day, the weekday “Coletâneas de Memes” (Monday’s, Friday’s…) are a site tradition, always signed off with the house laugh: “HuAUshUAshuAHs.”
4. Galerê
The blog also made room for readers. In Galerê, anyone can submit images and videos, earn points, level up and climb the community ranking, complete with medals and daily streaks (the “combo”).
5. Surviving it all
Maybe its greatest hit is this one: many 2000s and 2010s humor sites disappeared, while Não Intendo still posts every day and keeps more than 300,000 followers on X.
Helder’s favorites
We asked Helder himself about the blog’s best moments. His answer came in true house style: “Dude, there was the time we made the news in Slovenia, the time we helped a couple win a wedding party in Manaus, and we also rigged the Miss Osasco Plus Size result hauhsau.” So we went looking for the stories.
Making the news in Slovenia
In 2017, the Não Intendo group ran a Photoshop challenge starring then-Slovenian president Borut Pahor. The edits spread fast and ended up covered by the Slovenian press, from newspapers like Delo to local sites and radio. The blog rounded up the coverage in “Não Intendo na Eslovênia.”
A wedding in Manaus
In April 2016, reader David Marçal asked the group for help: he and his wife Kamilly, together for nine years, were competing for a wedding on a TV A Crítica show in Manaus, and audience support counted. The community jumped in and the couple won. The full story is on the blog.
A tattoo in a very special place
There was a price: David had promised to tattoo the Não Intendo logo on his butt if they won. He kept his word, and the photo became “O Legado do Não Intendo.”
Meeting at BGS

SavePoint’s Xavier used the show to meet the legend of Brazilian blogging in person. In his words on X: “I don’t know why they call him Helder.”
