A nun with a gun in a first-person metroidvania with boomer shooter visuals. That’s EVIL MOON: Unspoken, from Swedish solo developer Niklas Hallin and publisher Burning Planet Digital, which gets a Steam demo on October 19 during Steam Next Fest.

EVIL MOON: Unspoken

“What if you did Metroid Prime with boomer shooter graphics?”

“Why are there no indie attempts at Metroid Prime? Because it cannot be done! Retro Studios can barely do it with Nintendo money. But, and hear me out here, what if you did it with Boomer Shooter graphics?” says Hallin.

Because of the Malediction of the Moon, only devoted sisters with vows of silence can move freely in the city of Abbadox. You play as the silent nun Siléncia, who takes up arms against hordes of the Moon’s acolytes through the city’s winding cobbled streets.

Hallin created the compact 2D metroidvania series Alruna and is now bringing its irreverent level design into first-person 3D.
