Just one day to go: Valor Mortis, the first-person soulslike from One More Level (the Ghostrunner studio), launches this Tuesday, October 13, on PC (Steam), PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Publisher Lyrical Games released the launch trailer along with two interviews with the voice cast.
Napoleon, voiced by Vincent Cassel
The game is set in a supernatural take on 19th-century Europe. You play as William, a Grande Armée soldier brought back from the dead, who combines Napoleonic-era weapons with supernatural powers called Transmutations to fight hordes of twisted creatures and get past environmental obstacles.
César Award-winning French actor Vincent Cassel plays Napoleon Bonaparte himself. In his interview, he recalls that his aunt used to call Napoleon “a cousin of the family”. BAFTA winner Jennifer English, the voice of Shadowheart in Baldur’s Gate 3, plays The Shrike, a rebel leader resisting Napoleon’s empire in occupied Eastern Europe, and talks about preparing for the role in a separate video.
Launch time, price and Game Pass
The game goes live at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 5 PM UTC. The Standard Edition costs $39.99 and the Deluxe Edition $59.99, which includes a major story DLC planned for 2027 plus cosmetic packs. It is also on Xbox Game Pass from day one. One More Level plans a New Game Plus mode in Q4 2026, plus free updates in the following weeks.
