Hi everyone! Spooky season just got a sweet little treat: Capcom has released three Resident Evil remakes on Nintendo Switch 2 at once, Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition.
With them, every mainline entry can now be played on the console, including the recent Resident Evil Requiem and the upcoming Resident Evil Veronica.
What each one brings
- Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition: rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield try to survive Raccoon City’s biological disaster.
- Resident Evil 3: S.T.A.R.S. survivor Jill Valentine escapes the ruined city with Nemesis on her trail.
- Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition: six years later, Leon sets out to rescue the president’s daughter from a village of cultists. Includes the Separate Ways DLC and more extra content.
All three were rebuilt in Capcom’s RE ENGINE, and the Deluxe and Gold editions pack plenty of additional content. Early buyers get a special discounted price for a limited time, through November 7, 2026. On the US eShop, the launch prices are $29.99 for Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, $19.79 for Resident Evil 3 and $39.99 for Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition (regular $39.99, $29.99 and $49.99; seen on price trackers, 16/10/2026).
Our take
Carrying Leon, Claire and Jill around in a handheld is adorable (and terrifying, okay!). For anyone who never played the remakes, the launch discount is a lovely invitation into a series celebrating its 30th anniversary.
