Rumor: Microsoft is developing four new Xbox consoles

A rumor says Microsoft is working on four new Xbox models: two based on the Xbox One and two next-generation ones, called Lockhart and Anaconda.

Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox division, said recently at E3 that Microsoft is working on the successor to the Xbox One; according to rumors, the project’s name is Scarlett. This week another rumor made the rounds on the internet, saying Microsoft is working on 4 new Xbox models. Two models are based on the Xbox One and the other two belong to the new generation.

The first model is called Maverick and is a streaming-only console (it will have no disc drive). The second is a revision of the Xbox One S that will be compatible with xCloud, will have a disc drive and will be lighter and cheaper. The third (Lockhart) and the fourth (Anaconda) are part of the new generation, the first being a version aimed at the general market and the second being like the Xbox One X, a premium console made for those who want the best console on the market in terms of hardware. The rumor says the new generation of Xbox consoles will launch in 2020.
