Minecraft on Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita and Wii U will receive no more updates

Minecraft will not get new updates on PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita and Wii U, Microsoft confirms, with the final update released on December 18, 2018.

Minecraft will not receive new updates on PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita and Wii U; the last update was released yesterday, December 18. Minecraft appeared first on Xbox 360 (May 2013), then PS3 (December 2013), PS Vita (October 2014) and finally Wii U (December 2015).

Earlier this year, Microsoft announced that the Aquatic update would be the last major update for these consoles, saying:

“The older generation of consoles currently represents less than 5% of our active players, so we made the difficult decision to focus our efforts on supporting players where they play Minecraft the most.”
