A while ago, the author of The Witcher book series, which inspired the game series of the same name developed by CD Projekt RED, said he had made a terrible deal when he sold the adaptation rights to his books so CD Projekt RED could create games.
Realizing the success of the work in the games, the author demanded around 14 million euros in royalties from CD Projekt RED, claiming this would be a fair amount since the games had been very successful.
According to the site Wccftech, the author of the books and CD Projekt RED are about to sign an agreement under which the company will commit to giving the author additional compensation, though for less than he demanded. CD Projekt RED claimed it bought the rights to explore the universe created by the author, but thinks it best to settle the situation amicably and maintain a good relationship.
