French site Jeuxvideo says the next Xbox consoles will have SSDs

A rumor from France’s Jeuxvideo says the next Xbox consoles, Lockhart and Anaconda, will have SSDs and be announced at E3 2019.

The rumor came from the French site Jeuxvideo, which is quite well respected; according to the site, the new Xbox consoles, going by the codenames Lockhart and Anaconda, will be announced at E3 2019. The “Lockhart” Xbox will be the version with more modest hardware and no physical game drive, while the Xbox Anaconda will be the brand’s top-of-the-line version with much more powerful hardware, the successor to the powerful Xbox One X. The site also said it managed to get access to the technical specs and that they match another rumor released earlier this year; for those who do not remember the rumor, here are the specs it revealed as being those of the next Xbox consoles:

Xbox Lockhart

  • CPU: Custom 8 Cores – 16 zen threads 2
  • GPU: Custom NAVI 4+ Teraflops
  • RAM: 12GB of GDDR6 memory
  • Storage: 1TB NVMe 1 + GB / s SSD hard drive

Xbox Anaconda

  • CPU: Custom 8 Cores – 16 zen threads 2
  • GPU: Custom NAVI 12+ Teraflops GPU
  • RAM: 16GB of GDDR6 memory
  • Storage: 1TB NVMe 1 + GB / s SSD hard drive

Lastly, the site said a little about the games that would come to the new consoles; Halo Infinite will be crossgen and would launch in 2020. Let us wait for Microsoft’s E3 2019 to confirm whether the rumors were right.
