The Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console in March in the US. That makes three months of leadership, that is, since the start of the year no console has managed to sell more units than the Switch in Uncle Sam’s land (the US). The Switch also became the console (of the current generation) that sold the most in the first 3 months of the year, ahead of the best results of both the PS4 and the Xbox One.
And does it stop there? No, because besides achieving excellent hardware (console) sales, it also reached enviable software (game) sales. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate continues to sell well, reaching fourth place in the game sales ranking, Yoshi’s Crafted World managed to place among the 10 best-selling games on its debut, and on top of that there are Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe and Zelda Breath of the Wild, which have practically not left the list of the 20 best-selling games since their launch.
But the market doesn’t live on Nintendo alone, as the old man used to say… err, never mind… The Division 2 was the best-selling game of March and the second best-selling game of 2019, becoming Ubisoft’s sixth best-selling game in its launch month. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice also did well, becoming FromSoftware’s second-best launch (first place goes to Dark Souls 3)… Capcom managed to light the flame of Hack N Slash fans with DMC 5, which became the second best-selling debut in the series, behind only DMC 4.
