Professional Mortal Kombat 11 players humiliate each other at tournament

Professional Mortal Kombat 11 players humiliate each other with the Mercy mechanic at the Combo Breaker tournament. See what happened.

Mortal Kombat 11 has a game mechanic called Mercy. When it is performed as your opponent’s health runs out, it gives the winner of the fight the chance to be “merciful” by giving the opponent a new chance to fight; when the player does this, the opponent recovers (with 20% health). This mechanic is considered the “ultimate” insult in Mortal Kombat 11, since it basically says that the person affected by it does not even deserve to be feared in a fight. Below you can watch a video that demonstrates this mechanic:

Recently, at a tournament called Combo Breaker, the mechanic was used like never before with the aim of ridiculing opponents who lost their fights. The winners were so confident in their skills that they could even offer the opponent a second chance. Some went even further, as in the case of player Leah “GRPT|Gllty”, who went as far as granting “mercy” three times to his opponent and still won; his pride was such that in another fight, when performing “mercy” for the third time, he ended up losing the fight… is it the law of return? Ed Boon, head of the franchise, showed his displeasure (below) at seeing the mechanic used this way.
