BioWare announces Mass Effect Legendary Edition and says a new Mass Effect game is in development

BioWare announced Mass Effect Legendary Edition, remastering the original trilogy, and confirmed a new Mass Effect game is in early development.

The Mass Effect trilogy needs no introduction: it’s a space RPG with a strong focus on the player’s decisions (among other qualities), and that earned it a legion of fans, even if the trilogy’s ending is questionable…

As part of the N7 Day announcements (an event dedicated to the franchise’s universe), BioWare announced that the three games of the original trilogy will be re-released in a single package! And that’s not all: BioWare promised that all three games will receive graphical upgrades (such as textures, shadows, lighting, etc.) and gameplay updates in line with current games. About the franchise’s next game, BioWare’s general manager, Casey Hudson, said:

“Meanwhile, here at BioWare, a veteran team has been working hard to envision the next chapter in the Mass Effect universe. We are in the early stages of the project and can’t say anything more yet, but we’re looking forward to sharing our vision for where we go next.”

Now, without further ado, here’s the Mass Effect Legendary Edition trailer:

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will launch for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X and PC
