Copyright claims hit Twitch and several big streamers are banned

Copyright claims have reached Twitch: big streamers such as Yoda were banned over music, and old streams and deleted clips can also draw strikes.

The copyright plague (copyright claims) has unfortunately reached Twitch. Several streamers are suffering from it, and not only over recent streams… old streams are also subject to copyright claims (even if the soundtrack was removed from the video or the video itself was deleted). Many streamers used to play while listening to some music, and now, with this new Twitch policy, everyone feels insecure, because even big streamers like Yoda, who was banned on November 5 during a stream, got banned over a copyright claim for some song they were listening to during gameplay.

The streamer DevinNash, for example, showed that he received a penalty over a video that doesn’t even exist anymore (clips stay on Twitch’s servers for a while even if the streamer deletes them).

YouTube has become a pretty harsh place, and one of the reasons was copyright claims, which make hours-long videos lose monetization because of a few seconds of someone else’s video or music… let’s hope Twitch doesn’t go down that path…
