Call of Duty: Warzone now runs at 120FPS on Xbox Series X, PS5 stays at 60FPS

Call of Duty: Warzone now runs at up to 120 fps on Xbox Series X after an unannounced update, while the PS5 version stays at 60 fps, per Digital Foundry.

Call of Duty: Warzone received an update that unlocks 120FPS support on the Xbox Series X. Oddly enough, this isn’t mentioned in the patch notes, but several users noticed the upgrade. Digital Foundry also ran tests and confirmed the game now targets 120FPS (most of the time it sits between 100FPS and 120FPS), as shown in the image below.

Digital Foundry also tested the game on the PlayStation 5, where it still runs at 60FPS. DF also wonders how this discrepancy between the two platforms will play out, since the game supports crossplay (players on different platforms can play together) and on the Xbox Series X players will get a solid competitive edge and a considerably lower input response time thanks to 120FPS. Lastly, DF points out that the PS5 version is likely running as a PS4 game, which is (probably) why it didn’t get the update; that would require a full port.
