Square Enix reveals teaser for Marvel’s Avengers’ new character Kate Bishop

Square Enix reveals a teaser for Kate Bishop, the new playable character in Marvel's Avengers, arriving in an expansion with Hawkeye's story.

The new character making her debut in Square Enix/Marvel’s Avengers is named Kate Bishop (for those who do not know the character, let us say she is Hawkeye’s successor in the comics) and will debut in Operation: Kate Bishop – Taking AIM, a DLC to be released on December 8. Check the description Square Enix gave the DLC:

“In addition to a new playable Super Hero in Kate Bishop and the new chapter of the ongoing Avengers Initiative story, “Operation: Kate Bishop – Taking AIM” will also feature a powerful new villain, the Super Adaptoid, who will challenge players with a combination of abilities and weapons that mimic the Avengers’ attacks.

The start of “Taking AIM” began with new enigmatic Tachyon Rift missions that began appearing on players’ War Tables several weeks ago. In “Taking AIM”, Kate Bishop, master archer and skilled gymnast, resurfaces after her investigation into Nick Fury’s disappearance after A-Day leads her mentor Clint Barton (also known as Hawkeye) to vanish. As she unravels the mystery behind the sudden appearance of the Tachyon Rifts, she discovers a new twisted plan by AIM, which pushes her to work with the Avengers once more.

The “Taking AIM” story begins right after the end of the Marvel’s Avengers Reassemble campaign and is only the first half of the Two Hawkeyes Story Arc. Clint Barton’s Hawkeye will enter the scene in early 2021 to complete the double feature and set the stage for what comes next in the Avengers Initiative.“
