Dirt 5 technical director apologizes to Xbox fans and promises a patch with improvements and fixes

Dirt 5’s technical director apologizes to Xbox fans and promises a patch with improvements and fixes for the Xbox Series X version.

Dirt 5 is one of the games Microsoft is using as a showcase for the Xbox Series X; the game was chosen to show the console’s ability to run games at 120 fps, and it also offers other modes for those who prefer graphical fidelity over a higher frame rate.

Digital Foundry recently analyzed the game and found “inexplicable” technical problems (as the image below shows) in the Xbox Series X version, and it is worth noting that these problems do not occur on the PS5, which runs the game better than the Xbox Series X despite having inferior technical specs.

Given this, after Digital Foundry’s analysis, Codemasters technical director David Springate promised an update with fixes for the Xbox Series X version… he did not say exactly when this patch would be released, so all we can do is wait.
