Bethesda’s senior community manager detailed on the PlayStation Blog how the DualSense (the PS5 controller) will be used in the game Deathloop. According to him:
“It is not just your weapon’s actions that will have a unique feel through the controller (unless you consider Colt a weapon himself, which may be a safe consideration). Every type of movement your character makes will provide a different feel, whether you are running, sliding, climbing, sneaking or teleporting your way through Blackreef.
You will even notice the sharp contrast of distinct surface types as you fight through various environments – from the rough, pitted feedback you will feel as you slide down a rough roof, to the muffled thud as you land in the snow.”
Found that interesting? Well, it does not stop there! In the reveal video, a scene is shown where the character’s weapon jams and he has to unjam it; on the DualSense the player will feel everything from the trigger locking up (the DualSense triggers will really “lock” and change the resistance to being pressed) to the thumps the character makes on the weapon… all of it will be felt.
As for sound, through the DualSense speaker we will hear the sounds of bullets ricocheting near the character. Judging by the positive impressions of everyone who has gotten the console and used the DualSense, I really hope the controller is able to deliver all these mentioned sensations to the player! And you, are you looking forward to the game? Deathloop comes out on May 21, 2021 exclusively on PS5 (on consoles) and PC. Reveal trailer below:
