Fortnite season finale event hits peak of 15.3 million concurrent players

Fortnite’s season finale event peaked at 15.3 million concurrent players and drew 3.4 million viewers on YouTube and Twitch, a new record for Epic.

Fortnite is literally “a fever”; the game keeps breaking records and has a very active community. This season Fortnite brought in the Marvel characters in a kind of crossover… yesterday (12/01/20) the season finale event took place, showing Galactus arriving in the world of Fortnite, followed by several scripted battles in which the player’s character is the “main” character of the clash. The goal? Simple and straightforward: face Galactus and don’t lose.

After we defeat the world-devouring titan, he simply destroys every trace of the Marvel universe in Fortnite, and right after that the player’s character appears in John Jones’s office (apparently the same one that could be visited at the game’s last big event). With that, the game went into a 24-hour “pause”…

After the event, as usual, Epic Games released the numbers the game reached…the game reached a peak of 15.3 million concurrent players and was watched, adding YouTube and Twitch, by more than 3.4 million people. A new record for the game! For those who are curious about the event, watch:
