One of the coolest Xbox Series features is Quick Resume, which lets the console “pause” the game and return to it within seconds even after the console is turned off; you can leave several games suspended at once and switch between them quickly and easily. The feature, however, did not work with some games such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and Microsoft disabled it for technical reasons that have not yet been specified.
But rejoice, Xbox Series owners: Jason Ronald, Xbox director of program management, has spoken up and said that fixing this incompatibility is one of the team’s top priorities. He also said they are receiving player feedback and that the team will keep improving the feature based on community requests. He said:
“We have re-enabled Quick Resume on more than 20 optimized Series X|S titles, including Gears 5, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and just this week we re-enabled Quick Resume for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and we will keep working very closely with partners to make sure the feature is working the way we expect. We will continue to re-enable it for as many titles as we can in the coming days and weeks, and then we will really make sure players are getting what they expect.“
“We are listening to community feedback about how players want to use Quick Resume. We are really listening to that feedback, and some of the feedback we hear is the ability to know which games are Quick Resume enabled versus not, or to know which titles have a current Quick Resume state saved, and other ideas players have.”
