KRAFTON, Inc. announces the arrival of Season 10 of PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG), via update 10.1, on December 16 for PC and December 17 for consoles. This season introduces the new battleground Haven, bringing a unique environment that will immerse players in a singular experience.
Exclusive to Season 10, Haven is PUBG’s densest map to date. For the first time in the game’s history, a 1×1 map will hold 32 players in an urban environment with many vertical structures and combat possibilities. Wrapped in a twilight sky, the industrial island has several areas, including a carbon steel mill, coal depots, an industrial zone, a residential zone, a viaduct and docks. As players fight battles in the streets or on the rooftops of Haven, you must always keep an eye out for the new enemy faction known as “Pillar”, which roams the map.
Season 10 also adds a series of mechanics that will make players’ fight for survival more dynamic:
Pillar Soldiers: A new artificial intelligence (AI) enemy known as “Pillar” joins the battlefield. These private soldiers are known for guarding valuable and important loot across the map. Those brave (or crazy) enough to try to take down the guards and the more dangerous Pillar commanders will have their efforts rewarded with powerful gear.
Pillar Tactical Truck: As an effort to close off Haven’s streets, Pillar brought its own tactical truck to enforce its rules. The Pillar Tactical Truck is a new AI vehicle that roams the map hunting survivors and attacking them with powerful weapons. Since these trucks are armored, survivors are advised to think twice before starting a fight near them.
Pillar Scout Helicopter: Survivors can fly, but they can’t hide. Similar to the tactical truck, the scout is a new AI helicopter that roams the map trying to locate and identify players. Those unlucky enough to be caught in its light won’t want to stay long enough for the helicopter to call in reinforcements from the tactical truck.
Emergency Parachute: With the map’s verticality in mind, Haven added a wide variety of high places, such as highways and buildings. With danger lurking around every corner, planning your escape is more important than ever. With the emergency parachute, survivors can strategically jump from high ground and manually open the parachute to glide to safety.
Survivor Pass: Breakthrough: Contains all the gear needed to survive the streets of Haven. With new looks inspired by the backstory of the characters and the new faction, players will have plenty of rewards to unlock as they battle their way through the 100 levels available in the pass.
Season 10 will launch on PC on December 16 and on consoles on December 17. Survivors who want to try the changes ahead of time can play on the PC test server starting today.
