Nintendo confirms Switch OLED will use the same Joy-Con as the current model

Nintendo confirms the Switch OLED will use the same Joy-Con as the current model, disappointing those who expected a more powerful Switch.

Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch OLED, and before its announcement many expected the console to be a souped-up Switch, as several rumors had pointed to Nintendo going in that direction. Unfortunately for some, not this time: even though it is an update to the current console (with a bigger, better screen, a dock with a network cable port and improved audio), it received no hardware improvements, meaning it runs games with the same performance as the base Nintendo Switch.

After that, a small doubt still hung in the air… would the console have accessories that could only be used with it? The answer is, so far, no! Nintendo confirmed that the white Joy-Cons we saw connected to the console are not exclusive and can also be used with the base version of the device. Hopefully at least this version has had a revision to put an end to the console’s drift cases. And you, are you excited about the console’s new version?
