[RUMOR] Sega reportedly blocked from releasing Lost Judgment on PC due to lead actor’s image rights

Rumor: SEGA is reportedly blocked from releasing Lost Judgment on PC because of the image rights of the protagonist's actor, Takuya Kimura.

Lost Judgment is a spin-off of the Yakuza series. The producers recently decided they would keep the series in 2 distinct styles: while Yakuza would follow the turn-based combat philosophy of the last game (Like a Dragon), Judgment would keep using the franchise’s classic style, action/adventure with combat more focused on action in the best beat ’em up style.

Until now the games in the saga have frequently appeared on PC, and everything indicated they would stay that way… but recent rumors indicate that the company in charge of managing the image of the actor who lends his face to the game’s main character, Johnny & Associates, did not like the idea of seeing its client Takuya Kimura in a PC game… the company, according to rumors, is unyielding in its decision that the game should not be released on PC, going against Sega’s plans, which intended to make the launches of both series’ games worldwide. According to the site Nikkan Taishu, Johnny & Associates is a rather old-fashioned company in matters related to the internet…

For now let us treat the news as a rumor, but Sega has already announced that there are no plans for Judgment on PC, which is strange given the worldwide release policy mentioned above… let us hope it is all really just a rumor! Lost Judgment will launch for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S|X and Xbox One on September 24.
