One of the Xbox brand’s chiefs, Major Nelson, commented a bit more on the upcoming Phantom Dust reboot
and on the fact that it will have new gameplay possibilities.
The game’s new features will include the ability for Xbox One players to face players who have the PC version, and it will also be possible to pick up a save from one platform on another. And with a bit more information shared, the game is being produced on its original formula, with new features added for Xbox Live subscribers.
“We are working with the game’s original code, but running on an Xbox One, and it’s much better, since the Xbox One has a much more powerful system.”
It looks more modern, and the essence of the gameplay remains the same, and the best part is that we’re adding Xbox Live, with all the network’s features. The game will be part of the ‘Xbox Play Anywhere’ category, and will support CrossPlay and CrossSave [between PC and Xbox One].”
The game looks promising and has everything to bring the franchise back into the spotlight. The game may be released this year, as planned by Microsoft – before E3 in June –, a fact that leaves us even more excited about the return of the franchise, originally released for the first Xbox.
