Diablo III – Ultimate Evil Edition – Review SavePoint

Reviewed on: Xbox One

It was a long road for Diablo III to get here, with countless patches, updates and changes in addition to the Reaper of Souls expansion. The game certainly went through countless adjustments to meet the expectations of players who longed for a game worthy of the classic idolized by many: Diablo II.

And the wait was long, almost twelve years, and perhaps even because of that the game suffered a bit more trying to meet such high expectations generated by the hype and excitement of its fans.
This Ultimate version brings everything that had been released before, including the patches and the expansion, plus an interface entirely restructured and geared toward consoles.

And don’t think that is a negative; the gameplay and navigation flow so well that they make play smooth and extremely pleasant. Add to that impeccable performance at a smooth 1080p and 60 FPS and you have a pleasant and very rewarding experience.

Diablo III puts you in a medieval fantasy world with a seemingly simple plot, the old fight between good and evil, but one that gradually unfolds and, very naturally, urges the player to advance further and further, mission after mission, finding new items, weapons and information, though it still gives the impression that “something is missing”. Perhaps some more striking event or epic twist as you might expect from a title with such historical weight.

We Brazilian players also get the chance to be impressed by a spectacular localization job. Subtitles and voice acting in fluid, natural Portuguese make the experience much more engaging and captivating. First-rate work that unfortunately isn’t yet so common for us Brazilians.

On the technical side, as already said, the game puts on a show; gameplay, sound and performance make this the definitive version of a game that, if many feel it failed to equal its predecessor, many others feel has enough merits to figure among the best games of recent years. Certainly a reference in the genre that will still be played for a long time.
