Ban wave on the Nintendo Switch. Really?

Two Switch hackers, SciresM and ShinyQuagsire, said their consoles were banned from Nintendo online services with error 2124-4007; it is not a ban wave.

Yes, dear SavePoint reader, this is the big question that has plagued Nintendo Switch owners this week: a ban wave by Nintendo. And when Nintendo acts like this, it takes them wholesale, and there is no console left over a console to tell the tale.
Recently, two exponents of the hack scene (SciresM and ShinyQuagsire) tweeted that their consoles were banned from accessing ALL of Nintendo’s online services! Yes, BANNED! They received the error code: 2124-4007.
Is this a ban wave? No, definitely not. These two people are already known in the hack scene for modifying their consoles and sharing progress on their profiles. The truth is that not even the hackers themselves are sure HOW Nintendo does these bans, but it is already known that there are indeed several loopholes for this to happen (from wrong code in homebrew to a download by unorthodox methods on the eShop). So Nintendo DOES know when any illegal activity is happening on its servers. This takes us back to the scene of Nintendo’s last generations (DS, Wii, 3DS, Wii U…) highly unlockable, and detectable by the same methods. Very well, there are conspiracy theories that say Nintendo benefits from piracy to popularize and win more audience, and yes, that makes quite a lot of sense, since regardless of whether you have an unlocked console, the fact is that you NEED a device for it, so you have already left your money in the company’s hands.

MY CONSOLE, MY RULES!

One Piece is better than Naruto!

“But SavePoint, the console is mine, and if I want to stick it in my c…ranium, I will!“. Okay, that is a right you have (and who are we to say otherwise). But it is always good to remember that, on all consoles (without exception), there are rules and agreements between the company and the end user. Violating those rules means breaking a contract you signed and agreed to follow. So if you installed something you shouldn’t, to run something you shouldn’t even more, it would be at the very least hypocritical (not to say shameless) to complain about anything.
“Okay, but I didn’t do anything and still got this code“. There are not that many reports yet with error code 2124-4007. Still, if you or your friends or acquaintances receive it, and are absolutely sure your consoles have not been modified in any way, the customer support service is the most recommended (official) option.
