Square Enix is considering a new compilation of games in the Final Fantasy VII universe

Tetsuya Nomura said Square Enix is weighing spin-off projects alongside the Final Fantasy VII Remake, hinting at a Final Fantasy VII compilation.

Tetsuya Nomura, director of Final Fantasy VII Remake, talked about some details of the game’s development at a private event called The World Ends With You: Final Remix. According to Nomura, Square Enix is considering developing several projects related to the Remake, which could be released alongside the game. Nomura hinted that there could be a “Final Fantasy VII compilation,” after a fan commented that they would love to play Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII again.

We should remember that Square Enix released several Final Fantasy VII spin-offs, such as the aforementioned Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII and the film Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

Based on what Nomura said, it can be said that the company intends to release a series of spin-offs and transmedia releases, just as was done with the original Final Fantasy VII. What do you think? Would you like to see other games and even a film along the lines of Final Fantasy Advent Children?
