Creating single-player campaigns is “exciting”, says Battlefield V developer DICE

DICE design director Daniel Berlin said single-player War Stories matter to the team and improve the whole Battlefield V experience, launching November 15.

DICE design director Daniel Berlin spoke about Battlefield V’s single-player mode and how important it is to them. Daniel said:

“First, I think there are still people who like single-player campaigns. Second, we really like the War Stories,”

“Creating them is exciting for the team. It’s good for the product as a whole. It gives the team something that improves the entire gameplay experience.”

“If we decide to make a plane game, we have to think about the emotions we want to give the player, what music should be there, the kind of voices. By making those decisions for the single-player narrative, it influences the multiplayer and the rest of the game.”

The mode Daniel mentioned, War Stories, debuted in Battlefield 1 and shows war from the point of view of different characters in big moments of World War I, promising an uncommon level of immersion in the genre. Battlefield V launches tomorrow, November 15. Here is the trailer:
