Kojima confirms Death Stranding is slightly behind in development

Hideo Kojima confirmed Death Stranding is slightly behind schedule, calling small delays normal, with narrative and design ready but details still changing.

Death Stranding is one of the most enigmatic games announced recently; we have had a few trailers, but nobody really understood what the game is or what its gameplay would be like, and to make things worse the trailers raised more questions than answers. Kojima has not announced a release date, much less an estimate of when the game would be ready, but recently confirmed that the game is a little behind in its development… according to him these small delays are normal in game development. In a recent interview Kojima said:

“Many studios fall behind their planned release date; Death Stranding is slightly behind the initial plan, but not by much. Since I have been developing it for a long time, without a release date, I can do my best because I have my own estimate; however, I cannot deliver it when I fall behind my schedule.”

Kojima also mentioned that the game’s narrative and design are ready, but he constantly still makes changes to some details.
