Rainbow Six will have no single-player campaign in any game of the series

Rainbow Six will have no single-player campaign in any future game of the series, says director Alexandre Remy in an interview with the Daily Star.

Rainbow Six series director Alexandre Remy said in an interview with the Daily Star that the campaign mode of the Rainbow Six series, including future games, is dead and that all focus and resources are (and will continue to be) used on multiplayer. He said:

“No, no, no. The solo / single-player experience of Rainbow Six is dead. For Siege, forget a solo campaign. We want this game to be a pure competitive multiplayer experience. All our resources are going in that direction, and investing those resources elsewhere would be a step backward.

When you have a game that requires so much support, and so much care in updates and balancing, I don’t think you have the luxury of diverting resources. Our fans expect a certain level of quality and a mastery in our games that is extremely high. Why would you make just a solo/single-player campaign?”

I know the statement will disappoint many people who enjoyed the franchise’s tactical single-player campaign, but let’s face it… Rainbow Six Siege solidified, grew and expanded the franchise, which now figures among the most watched FPS in the world, creating a very strong and active community, that is, following the multiplayer/esports path brought the franchise a glory it never reached before! That shows why they decided to keep betting in this direction.
