Xbox Series X|S price cut in Brazil after tax reduction

After Brazil cut the IPI tax on video games, Xbox Series X launches at R$ 4.599,00 and Series S at R$ 2.799,00; pre-sale buyers can request refunds.

After the decree reducing the IPI (the federal tax on industrialized products) for video games was published in the Diário Oficial da União, Brazil’s official gazette, the new Xbox Series X|S consoles arrive in the country at reduced prices.

The Xbox Series X, with the greatest processing power and a disc drive, will launch at a suggested price of R$ 4.599,00, and the Xbox Series S, which has all the benefits of the new generation in the smallest and most elegant console, will launch at a suggested price of R$ 2.799,00. The packages include the console, one controller and the cables needed for the devices to work.

Consumers who already bought in the pre-sale should request a refund from the retailers responsible for the sale, who must evaluate how the refund will be made case by case.

The Xbox Series X|S will be available at the new price in physical stores of all the country’s major retail chains and at official resellers. Find out here where to find them.
