First of all, allow me to introduce the game to you… Returnal is a third-person shooter with psychological horror elements developed by the company behind Resogun, Housemarque. The developers call the game “the studio’s most ambitious project”.
The game’s theme is reminiscent of the Tom Cruise movie “Edge of Tomorrow”, where after an incident fighting an alien he discovers that each time he dies he “restarts the day to try again”; in the game’s case, besides you restarting “the day” each time you die, the levels also restart, that is, they change with each new attempt (after death), being randomly generated.
Today Housemarque released a video telling more about the game’s development. In this video, besides learning that combat has free aim and locked aim through a lock-on system, we find out there is a kind of sideways dash to escape (or try to escape) enemy attacks. Check out the video below; if you want to watch it with subtitles in your language, turn on YouTube’s automatic translation!
