The next game in the God of War saga was going to launch this year, but we recently received the news that the game was delayed to 2022 with no exact date yet. As usual, some more heated “fans” started sending hate messages over the delay. Developers, writers and even scriptwriters like Alanah Pearce received these messages in such large numbers that the game’s director himself, Cory Barlog, spoke out about it, asking fans to stop sending them because, if anyone deserved the blame, it would be him. Check out what he said:
“If you want to be mad at someone about anything related to God of War – be it the delay, [the cross-gen] between PS4 and PS5, the size of subtitles, the existence of Sigrun, anything – be mad at me. I make the decisions. I did this. Don’t bother the team, they are great people doing excellent work. Every single human at the studio is there because they are exceptional at their job. We are better because of them. I am very lucky to have their talent and intelligence to [make] my crap. For some reason, they want to, and I love everyone for it.”
Obviously he is not to blame for anything, maybe “guilty” of having good sense, because it is better to have a delay for improvements than to release an unfinished game like the Cyberpunk 2077 developer did.
