New Warframe expansion arrives this year, plus what happened at TennoCon 2021

Warframe will get The New War expansion in 2021, Digital Extremes announces. See what happened at TennoCon 2021 and the other news.

Digital Extremes, developer of Warframe, recently announced that the game’s newest expansion will arrive this year. The expansion is called The New War:

“For The New War, we want players to be able to follow Warframe’s storyline, which means we will be balancing new content reveals and spoilers as best we can! This year’s relay event felt like a real moment, even during rehearsals. I enjoyed many Warframe reveals, but watching players relive some of those very personal story moments together, from all over the world, was special.”

The event also revealed that players will (soon) have cross save and cross play, and that all game releases will now be simultaneous on every platform.

“The community is incredibly important to us, and opening up Cross Play and Cross Save is just one of many other efforts we will make to bring more players together, including extending Warframe’s fast, fluid, action-packed combat experience to other global gaming platforms.”

Warframe is available now for free and can be played on PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X. The The New War expansion will launch this year, but does not yet have an exact date.
