Some games win you over with the trailer, and some win you over with the pixel details. Wings of Endless, an action RPG created by solo developer Isoca Games and published by JanduSoft, has been released for Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. On Xbox Series and Xbox One, pre-orders are open and the launch is on Thursday, May 15.

The story

The protagonist is Hariku, a reckless bounty hunter who boasts of being the best at what he does. His life is turned upside down when a seemingly simple job takes him to the center of a long-forgotten war. By his side are Owly, a mysterious owl, and a group of unexpected allies.

How it plays

What stands out is the fast, real-time combat, with instant switching between three different heroes. In the Steam description, the game is an action RPG with platforming, and the package includes:

  • a big world with varied biomes, from deserts to snowy forests;
  • ancient puzzles to solve;
  • weapons and equipment to discover and items to craft;
  • lots of side quests that deepen the world;
  • challenging bosses.

According to JanduSoft, the campaign runs over 20 hours.

The care of solo work

A nice detail: all of this came from the hands of a single person. You can see the care in the released art, with expressive characters and colorful settings reminiscent of 16-bit action RPGs. Switching heroes in the middle of combat is also the kind of idea that takes a lot of fine-tuning to work well, and that’s where the design usually shows whether it was made with care.

Where to find it

The Steam page lists the release on May 8, 2025 and also has a demo. On consoles, the game came out for Switch, PS5 and PS4, and the Xbox Series and Xbox One versions arrive on May 15. For those who like pixel art with real adventure, it’s a good pick.

Indies and pixel art

Capitão Pixel swears he has a pilot’s license, but the only thing he really flies is the Steam Next Fest demo list. He covers indies, pixel art and art direction, and can write three paragraphs about a jump animation. He has never been seen without his captain’s cap, not even in photos (which, let’s be honest, are all drawn).
