EVO 2026 took place this past weekend (June 26 to 28), traditionally in Las Vegas.
And as always, the main fighting game developers announced news for their new and old games.
I’ll leave the main videos here for you to watch, and a short text with more information about the games.
FRIDAY
Avatar Legends: showed the characters coming via DLC.
SATURDAY
UNI2: showed a bit of gameplay of the next character: Zohar
GFVSR: announced the game will get a new character, and an update to version 2.60, with a new gameplay system, balance changes and tweaks, and confirmed the game will get a Switch 2 port.
GG Strive: showed the gameplay and theme of Robo-Ky.
BB Centralfiction: revealed who the new character will be. Unfortunately just an illustration with a design.
Seems like announcing a new character for an old game has become the trend now. Keep watching.
SUNDAY
Invincible VS: announced 3 characters from DLC season 1.
TwoChico: announced the next characters.
Tekken 8: Bob gameplay and Roger Jr. teaser.
VF6 Crossroads: new character announcement
KOF XV: update date, which is very close. Balance changes for all characters.
AOF3R: announced that Art of Fighting 3 will get a new version, with a gameplay balance patch and 2 new characters: King and Yuri.
SNK really deserves congratulations. Releasing an update and characters for a 30-year-old game.
Fatal Fury City of the Wolves: showed the same Kenshiro trailer, but said he would be available the same day, after the Fatal Fury tournament ended.
Street Fighter 6: the last tournament was Street Fighter 6, the game with the most entrants, from the most famous fighting game franchise, the father of the genre, etc…
But unfortunately Capcom dropped the ball on the mission and showed no news for the game.
Maybe because of that, EVO scrambled and brought some news to close the event’s last tournament with a bang.
A bunch of folks from Arksys went on stage, said some nonsense and released the Marvel Tokon trailer, announcing the other fighters on the Ghost Rider’s team.
There were a few more announcements, like a new character for Rivals of Aether 2, plus a Mina the Hollower collab, but since Aether 2 is a platform fighter, I simply ignore it.
There was also the announcement of a brand-new character in the DOA6 de-master that came out these days, but they only showed the character’s voice and half an illustration.
To wrap up, since it was outside EVO, Arksys released the Robo-Ky character guide on its YouTube channel, showing all his moves and mechanics:
