Heads up, São Paulo: Activision has set up a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 pop-up on Avenida Paulista. The space opened on Saturday (Oct. 17) and runs through Friday, October 23, right at the entrance of the Shopping Cidade São Paulo mall.

What’s there

The 77 m² space is themed after the game’s world. There are meet & greets with Call of Duty community names such as Hayashii, Rayana Bainy, Ninext, NGVieira and Caprio, plus Ghost himself for photos. Exclusive giveaways are on offer too, while each day’s stock lasts.

Note: entry is 18+ only, with ID checked at the door. Minors can’t get in, even with an adult.

Opening hours

  • October 17: 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • October 18: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • October 19-23: noon to 10 p.m.

Address: Av. Paulista, 1230, Bela Vista, São Paulo, Brazil.

The game launches on October 22.

What Modern Warfare 4 is about

Quick catch-up: Modern Warfare 4 takes the war to the Korean Peninsula. North Korea launches a full-scale invasion, and you follow Private Park, a young South Korean soldier seeing combat for the first time. Half a world away, Captain Price is running his own off-the-books war, outside the system he once served. The campaign moves through trench warfare in Korea, close-quarters fights in New York, chases through Paris and an SAS night raid in Mumbai.

Infinity Ward leads development, backed by studios including Beenox, Raven, Treyarch and Sledgehammer. The game comes to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and, for the first time in the series, Nintendo Switch 2, with that version built alongside Digital Legends. Last-gen consoles are out.

Multiplayer brings back large maps that mix vehicles and infantry, and the DMZ extraction mode returns too. Digital pre-purchasers have had campaign early access since October 16, and DMZ early access opens on October 20.

Our take

A street activation this size in the middle of Avenida Paulista, in launch week, shows how much Brazil matters to Call of Duty. If you’re in São Paulo and 18+, there’s no excuse.
