New Forza Horizon 3 DLC available from today

The Playseat Car Pack reached Forza Horizon 3 on February 7, 2017 with seven cars, from the Aston Martin DB11 to the Honda S800, included in the Car Pass.

Come with me, because the Forza Horizon 3 garage has new company: the Playseat Car Pack arrived on February 7, 2017 on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, bringing seven more cars to the collection of Playground Games’ game.

The pack was part of the Forza Horizon 3 Car Pass, sold separately or with the Ultimate Edition. According to Xbox itself, it was the fifth of the six packs planned in the pass, so anyone who already had the Car Pass received the cars at no extra cost. And a cute detail for those enjoying the snow: all the models also worked in Blizzard Mountain, the game’s first expansion, released in December 2016.

The seven cars in the pack:

  • 2017 Aston Martin DB11
  • 2016 Cadillac ATS-V
  • 1985 Holden HDT VK Commodore Group A
  • 2016 Honda Civic Type-R
  • 1970 Honda S800
  • 1990 Renault Alpine GTA Le Mans
  • 2016 Vauxhall Corsa VXR

Look how cute this mix is: there is a brand-new luxury sports car, a spicy hatch and plenty of nostalgia. The Commodore Group A, a classic of Australian tracks, became known as “Bluey” or “Blue Meanie” because of its blue color, which fits right in with Forza Horizon 3’s Australia. The tiny Honda S800 is, in Xbox’s words, “the final evolution of one of the first four-wheeled Hondas”.

What came next

Forza Horizon 3 had been released in September 2016 and was already a hit: an average of 91 on Metacritic on Xbox One, the best sports/racing game award at The Game Awards 2016 and more than 2.5 million copies sold by February 2017. The second expansion, Hot Wheels, arrived on May 9, 2017. My little gamer heart squeezes a bit at the end of the story: on September 27, 2020, the game and its DLCs left the Microsoft Store and stopped being sold.
