Kingdom Hearts 3 will have no Season Pass, but may get a big DLC

Kingdom Hearts III will have no Season Pass but could get a big DLC, and a secret movie hints at the future of Square Enix’s series.

Secret movie hints at where the series is headed.

Kingdom Hearts 3 will not be the end of the series. There are more games planned, and there will be hints about them in the secret movie and the epilogue.

Tetsuya Nomura gave an interview to Famitsu in which he answers some questions about the game. The interview is available online in Japanese, but here is a rough translation:

  • A Season Pass for Kingdom Hearts 3 is not planned, although the plans for DLC have not been finalized yet.
  • They are considering releasing free DLC for the game
  • Kingdom Hearts 3 Final Mix may happen, with a big DLC that will act as an expansion.
  • Their priority is to work on a new project rather than making more DLC.
  • Nomura gave hints on how to unlock the Kingdom Hearts 3 secret movie
  • Kingdom Hearts 3 will mark the end of the Seeker of Darkness saga.
  • They will reconsider worldwide distribution after 4 copies of the game were stolen in early December.

In case you don’t know yet, Square is also planning to release the epilogue and the secret movie with an update after the game launches on the 25th. The epilogue will come out on January 26, while the secret movie is planned for release on January 31.
