Anthem had a very troubled launch… bugs, too many loading screens, few enemies, repetitive missions, promises of content that were not fulfilled, and on top of all that, most of the team that worked on fixing the game was moved to the development of Dragon Age 4, so everything led us to believe the game was on its last legs and would probably be abandoned by the company soon.
But it seems that is not what is going to happen, at least according to what EA CEO Andrew Wilson said (EA owns BioWare, the studio that developed the game). According to him, the first months after launch were just a troubled launch and they have multi-year plans for the game. He said:
“Properties last for generations and run in these 7 to 10 year cycles. So if you think of Anthem in a 7 to 10 year cycle, the start was not what many wanted, including our players. I think the team will really get there and achieve something special and something fantastic, because they have shown that they can.”
“The teams at BioWare will keep working every day and listening to feedback from new and old players, and trying to deliver on the promises they made to those players. That is what you are seeing with Anthem today.”
