Sony confirms Gran Turismo 7 and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will not be cross-gen

Sony confirmed in a new YouTube trailer that Gran Turismo 7 and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will not be cross-gen and will launch only on the PS5.

A new trailer released today on PlayStation’s official YouTube channel shows a compilation of games already released and also upcoming releases for the PlayStation 5.

Watch it below:

Among those upcoming releases, there is some new information, such as Sony confirming that Destruction AllStars, Gran Turismo 7 and the new Ratchet & Clank will not be cross-gen and will launch exclusively for PS5. On the other hand, Horizon II Forbidden West will get the same treatment as Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales, and the PS4 will also get a version of the game.

As for games developed by third parties, Ghostwire Tokyo and Deathloop will only launch on Xbox consoles after 1 year, even after Microsoft’s purchase of ZeniMax. The PC version will probably launch alongside the PS5 version, but we do not have details on that yet.

Square Enix’s Project Athia is focused on PS5 development, and Xbox will only receive the game after 2 years. PC will also get a version, but there is no information yet.

2021 looks excellent for PS5 owners: big first-party games such as Horizon II Forbidden West, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart and Gran Turismo 7 are scheduled for 2021, although they still do not have a definitive date, and Sony could announce a delay at any moment.
