Remember solving game mysteries with a notebook by your side, writing down clue after clue? Hillthorn carries a bit of that spirit. Raw Fury and studio Fool Moon have announced that the game launches on November 10 on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch and Android and iOS devices.

A mystery told in cards

A child has gone missing on a mountain’s maze-like trails, and it is up to you to find out what happened. The whole story unfolds through Clue cards, which can be investigated, explored and, in some cases, even answer back when you try to communicate with them.

You are an outsider, so drawing information from locals who distrust anyone outside their “Flock” takes finesse. And the clock is ticking: too many threads to follow, too little time.

If you can’t wait, a demo is coming to Steam Next Fest, which starts on October 19.

Our take

An investigation without a single spoken word, just cards and silence, has the feel of an old-school classic. Raw Fury tends to get these strange little gems right.
