CD Projekt Red will not adopt procedurally generated quests (created by algorithms… you can read more about it here) in CyberPunk 2077; according to Philipp Weber (the company’s quest coordinator), all of the game’s quests will be handcrafted, that is, made and designed by a team. Weber said:
“All of the game’s quests are handcrafted. For us, quality is always more important than quantity, and we simply can’t deliver that quality with modules that we put together in different ways to create those random quests. We don’t just want to keep people busy, but to give them something that makes it worth doing.”
These statements show all the effort the company is putting into the game’s development; making the quests of an RPG of this magnitude by hand is something few companies are willing to do. To give you an idea, big RPGs such as Skyrim, Fallout and Diablo didn’t do this.
