GODFALL was originally conceived as an exclusive game for
PlayStation 5 and, after a while, announced for PlayStation 4. Today the game and its expansion, called Fire & Darkness, were released for PlayStation 4; the expansion is also available on PlayStation 5. Talking about the launch, the CEO of Counterplay Games, the game’s developer, wrote:

Godfall is an extremely exciting and ambitious project for us, and we are always listening and learning from player feedback, especially in this next chapter. With the additions and improvements of Fire & Darkness and Lightbringer, now is the perfect time for new and returning players to dive into Godfall.”
GODFALL will feature crossplay and crossbuy, meaning that whoever buys the PlayStation 4 version will get the upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version and can play with any player regardless of platform (as long as it is a Playstation 4 or PlayStation 5). The free update adds more than 100 cosmetic items, a new game mode (Endgame matchmaking beta: fight alongside friends and face Godfall’s toughest endgame challenges with three-player PvE online matchmaking for Ascended Tower of Trials and Lightbringer mode), new loot items and much more.
