Tripo AI launches EdenLive: real-time generative rendering for interactive experiences

Tripo AI launched EdenLive, an open-source real-time generative renderer that turns rough game engine visuals into detailed video at 720p and 24 FPS.

Tripo AI has announced a key milestone in the development of its world models: the launch of EdenLive. The new real-time generative renderer is designed to raise the quality of video for interactive experiences, marking a significant step forward in building virtual worlds and interactive scenes.

Separating logic from visual presentation

EdenLive is part of Project Eden, Tripo AI’s world model architecture focused on interactive environments. The big difference of this technology is that it decouples what happens in the virtual environment from how it is displayed.

In practice, this means code agents, game engines and simulations handle the logical evolution of the scene, while EdenLive generates the matching visuals dynamically and instantly.

The Project Eden structure, first presented in May, divides the environment into three fundamental layers:

  1. A continuously evolving world state;

  2. A state-to-visual interface;

  3. A generative renderer.

EdenLive implements the second and third layers, while leaving the first one fully flexible. According to Dr. Cao Yanpei, Chief Scientist of Tripo AI, this is a crucial step in the company’s vision of building interactive, immersive worlds.

High-end technical performance

EdenLive can turn rough visuals generated by game engines or code agents into detailed, rich videos in real time. Technical highlights include:

  • Smoothness and resolution: It renders at 480p and 720p. In tests with a high-end consumer GPU (RTX 5090), the system reached more than 24 frames per second (FPS) at 720p.

  • Long-horizon synthesis: It allows continuous real-time video generation for several minutes without interruption.

  • Customizable inputs: To produce the desired result, the tool takes three prompts: a 2D/3D scene or reference video, a reference image for the target first frame and a text prompt.

Practical applications and range of uses

Because scene state and rendering are independent, EdenLive has a wide range of applications:

  • Game and animation previews: Connected to code agents, it enables interactive previews. Creators can explore different styles, looks and art directions while keeping the same layout, movements and original camera path.

  • Real-time video restyling: It allows instant replacement of characters, scene elements or the entire visual style of the stream.

  • Embodied AI: It converts footage of direct human manipulation into a robot’s point of view, helping connect robot learning to demonstrations performed by people.

Open-source initiative

Reaffirming its commitment to the developer community, Tripo AI has made EdenLive open source. Available now are:

  • The model weights;

  • The real-time video generation code;

  • A skill that turns text prompts into simple playable games;

  • The complete frontend for the prompt-to-game pipeline.
