Flux Games, a Brazilian company that recently gained notoriety with its video game adaptation of the series Cobra Kai, successor to the Karate Kid franchise, available for streaming on Netflix, is promoting its independent game creation event, the SP Pro Game Jam.
Game jams are famous around the world, usually bringing together programmers and artists who embrace the challenge of creating an original game in a short time, usually a weekend.
The local version of the event, which is limited to participants from São Paulo, requires that the project be delivered within a month and offers its participants both a platform for forming teams, which must have four people, and mentoring during the development process.
Registrations are already open and run until January 15, when candidates will be reviewed and placed. Development of the projects must take place throughout the month of February. Presentations and voting (which will be open to the online public) will take place in early March.
The event’s total prize pool is more than R$ 38 thousand, with most of it to be split among the four members of the winning team, which must then work with Flux for another six months to get the title ready for release on the Nintendo Switch.
All the information about the event and registration can be found on the project’s Official Site.
