In December 2020, Bandai Namco Entertainment America announced that the third character pack for One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 was now available. Officially called “The Land of Wano Pack”, the content brought three figures tied to the Wano Country arc.
The highlight is the legendary samurai Kozuki Oden, one of the most memorable characters in the Wano story. With him came two of his retainers, the Nine Red Scabbards (Akazaya Nine): Kin’emon, known as “Fire Fox”, and Okiku. All three debuted as playable characters in the Pirate Warriors series with this pack.
The Wano pack joined two others released earlier. “The Whole Cake Island Pack” brought Charlotte Smoothie, Charlotte Cracker and Vinsmoke Judge. “The Worst Generation Pack” added X Drake, Killer and Urouge. Each pack was sold separately.
The game
Pirate Warriors 4 is a musou-style action game developed by Omega Force, from Koei Tecmo, the same team behind Dynasty Warriors, and published by Bandai Namco. It arrived on March 27, 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC, with 43 playable characters at launch. The campaign adapts several arcs of Eiichiro Oda’s manga, but the Wano part was heavily modified, since the arc was still ongoing when the game was made. The title also brought four new multiplayer modes, including battles against giant bosses.
For those who like matches with lots of enemies on screen and characters with very different styles, the packs greatly expanded the options.
What came next
In December 2020, the game passed 1 million copies, the fastest entry in the Pirate Warriors series to hit that mark. It kept receiving characters for years, reaching 24 extras, for a total of 67. In February 2025, when celebrating 4 million sales, Bandai Namco announced PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, released on November 21, 2025 alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 one.
